DEA Course: Controlled Substance Prescribing and Substance Use Disorders - Comprehensive Education to Improve Quality of Care

Join us for a series of nine interactive modules led by experts on controlled substances, substance use disorders, pain management, and opioid therapies. This program fulfills the DEA MATE Act's 8-hour training requirement on opioids, other substance use disorders, and pain management.

Target Audience: All Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-registered practitioners including physicians, podiatrists, dentists, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, nurse anesthetists, clinical nurse specialists and physician assistants/physician associates who are authorized to dispense controlled substances by the state in which they practice.

What are the New Jersey Medical License CME Requirements?

New Jersey Medical License CME Requirements

The New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners requires 100 continuing medical education credits, of which at least 40 of such credits shall be in Category I.

FOR LICENSE RENEWAL STARTING IN 2019 AND EVERY RENEWAL THEREAFTER - One (1) of the required Category 1 Credits needs to be in topics concerning prescription opioid drugs, including responsible prescribing practices, alternatives to opioids for managing and treating pain, and the risks and signs of opioid abuse, addiction and diversion.
